BurtonIT began well over 20 years ago with Andrew Burton as a tech geek of decades standing. From Maitland High School, Andrew was involved in IT tech, (owning and operating an Apple IIe!). Finding that over the ensuing years he was tasked at businesses he worked at to assist and provide tech support was the natural progression. From there, assisting family and friends progressed into being involved in small to medium sized Computer & IT Support companies in the Lower Hunter assisting clients.
Over the years Andrew has built up a very sound knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, hardware, networking and a vast array of peripheral programs that go along with them (including Office, Anti-Virus applications, Anti-Spy ware, etc). Moreover, as he started to do more work in the Small Business sector he became well acquainted with Microsoft’s Server Operating Systems and has gained extensive knowledge of the component elements (Exchange, ISA, IIS, etc). Networking as hardware and systems was an integral part of this support.
BurtonIT’s history has been strongly linked with NGO’s in the areas of Disability Support and Advocacy throughout the Hunter Region. We have worked with Maitland Community Care Services, Meals on Wheels, Coalfields NeighbourCare, Beresfield & District Community Care, Newcastle Community Transport and many other groups still existing and now part of larger organisations, dedicated to providing support to the aged, informed and disabled.
Another group of clients has involved work with the NGO’s strongly associated with Children and early intervention/NDIS activities. Organisations such as Early Links and Hunter Prelude have been previous clients. We take a great deal of satisfaction in knowing these organisations have been able to begin, grow and develop into the entities and departments for bigger organisations that they are today because of the partnerships in IT support and growth we jointly had in the past.
Burton IT has and continues to operate throughout the Hunter Region with clients ranging from small businesses to individuals to NGOs. As you can see this covers quite a wide expanse of clientelle and location and is possible because we are based out of Maitland as a central location to these sites, clients and needs.
Today, BurtonIT is looking more to providing support and services for individuals and small businesses to provide effective and realistic solutions to issues and aims. Our purpose is to see that our clients are not sold on solutions that we offer for the sole purpose of making a profit, but to provide real world, effective, solutions that answer the problems and needs of our clients.
